Venetian Flute English


Description:

A diapason/flute hybrid of 8', 4', 2', or 1' pitch. Sumner and Maclean give it a wide scale, while Irwin gives it a moderate scale and narrow mouths. Sumner also says: �it might be better called Venetian Flute, because the Italian principals were generally of small scale.�


Examples:

No examples of Venetian Flute are known. Osiris contains about 20 examples of Italian Principal at 1', 2', 4', and 8' pitch.
