This name has been used by English organ-builders for a variety of Gamba which is slower of speech than normal Gambas, made in imitation of certain old German Gambas. The name was first used by Schulze of Paulinzelle, Germany in the organ of the Doncaster Parish Church, Yorkshire, England. Maclean considers it synonymous with Fugara. Audsley and Wedgwood write disparagingly of this stop.
